1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and the legal entity operating ShowIntro ("ShowIntro", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, do not use the platform.
These Terms apply to all users — candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers. Where a section addresses a specific role, the obligations of that role apply in addition to the general obligations that apply to everyone.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity, and "you" in these Terms refers to that entity.
2. What ShowIntro is
ShowIntro is an async video hiring platform. Candidates record short video answers to standardised, randomly assigned hiring questions. Recruiters review those answers and assemble shortlists. Hiring Managers approve finalists — all without scheduling a first call.
ShowIntro is a tool. It does not guarantee any employment outcome, interview conversion, hire, salary level, or response time from any party. ShowIntro is not a recruitment agency, employer of record, or party to any employment contract that may result from use of the platform.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use ShowIntro. By registering you confirm you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the law of your country of residence.
You also confirm that you are not located in, and are not a national or resident of, a country or region subject to a comprehensive trade embargo by the European Union or the United States, and that you are not listed on any government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account. Keep your password confidential, do not share login credentials, and notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
Account information must be accurate and up to date. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that contain fraudulent, impersonating, or deliberately misleading data, or where there is a reasonable belief of compromise.
5. Candidate rules
As a candidate you agree to:
- Be authentic. All video answers must represent you genuinely. AI-generated video, deepfakes, impersonation, scripting by a third party, lip-syncing pre-recorded answers, or any form of misrepresentation is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
- Accept random question assignment. Questions are drawn randomly from a pool to ensure fairness. Attempting to manipulate, predict, leak, or bypass the assignment system is prohibited.
- Keep your profile truthful. Inaccurate claims about skills, employers, credentials, certifications, or right-to-work status are a breach of these Terms.
- Control your own sharing. ShowIntro provides the tools to share and revoke access to your profile. You are responsible for who you share your link with and for keeping that link private if you wish to limit reach.
- Respect others. Do not include defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise unlawful content in your videos or profile.
- Stay on topic. ShowIntro is a professional hiring platform. Your videos and profile content must relate to your professional identity — career story, expertise, technical answers, and role fit. Videos that are off-topic, unrelated to hiring, promotional, entertainment-focused, or otherwise inconsistent with the purpose of ShowIntro will be removed without prior notice.
- Accept community-standards enforcement. Content that violates these rules will be removed and, depending on severity or repetition, may lead to warnings, feature restrictions, account suspension, or permanent termination without refund. Section 16 governs the process.
6. Recruiter rules
As a recruiter you agree to:
- Use candidate profiles and videos only for legitimate, active hiring purposes within your current recruitment engagements.
- Not redistribute, copy, download for archival, store externally, or re-publish candidate videos without the candidate's explicit written consent.
- Not use the platform to discriminate against candidates on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, nationality, marital status, pregnancy, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
- Only invite hiring managers who have a genuine, legitimate interest in reviewing the specific candidates you share with them, and who have agreed to be bound by these Terms.
- Comply with applicable data-protection law in your jurisdiction when handling candidate information, including any obligations to inform candidates about how their data is used inside your organisation.
- Pay your subscription fee on time. Non-payment results in suspension of access to paid features after the grace period described in section 8.
7. Hiring Manager / hiring manager rules
As a hiring manager you agree to:
- Access candidate profiles only through a valid recruiter invitation. You may not attempt to access profiles you have not been invited to view, share invitation links with unauthorised colleagues, or aggregate candidate data outside ShowIntro.
- Use candidate information solely to evaluate candidates for the specific open role associated with the invitation you received.
- Not share, export, screenshot for redistribution, or re-publish any candidate information outside of ShowIntro and your direct hiring team.
- Provide hiring decisions in good faith and apply the same non-discrimination obligations described in section 6.
8. Subscriptions and billing
Recruiter and hiring manager plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose). Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until that date.
- Refunds. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer-protection law (e.g. the 14-day EU withdrawal right for new consumer subscriptions before the service has been substantially used).
- Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email or in-platform banner. The new price applies to your next renewal unless you cancel.
- Taxes. Prices are exclusive of VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes, which are added at checkout where required.
- Failed payments. If a charge fails, we retry for up to 14 days. If payment is still not received, paid features are suspended; your data remains intact and is restored once billing resumes.
9. Deletion and the 30-day cooldown
You can delete your account at any time from the profile settings page. Deletion removes your profile, all video recordings, profile fields, comments, shortlist memberships, and related rows immediately and permanently. We cannot restore a deleted account.
After deletion, the email address used to register cannot be used to create a new ShowIntro account for 30 days. This restriction exists to prevent abuse — evading bans, gaming the random question-assignment system, or re-registering after a recruiter rejection. We retain only an irreversible MD5 hash of the email to enforce the cooldown; the plain address is purged at deletion.
The restriction applies even if you request an exception. It is enforced automatically by the platform and cannot be waived.
10. Content ownership and licence
You retain full ownership of all content you create on ShowIntro — including your videos, profile text, and uploaded files (collectively, "Your Content").
By uploading Your Content you grant ShowIntro a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, process, transcode (for example, to deliver different bitrates), cache, and display Your Content to the parties you authorise — recruiters and hiring managers with access to your share link or shortlist invitation. This licence exists solely to operate the service. It ends automatically when you delete the content or your account.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models, do not licence it to third parties, and do not display it in marketing material without your separate written consent.
The ShowIntro name, logo, platform design, source code, and underlying software are owned by ShowIntro and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute them, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.
11. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Use ShowIntro for any illegal purpose or in violation of any regulation, including export control and sanctions law.
- Attempt to scrape, crawl, mirror, or automate requests to the platform, or use it for training machine-learning models without our explicit written consent.
- Impersonate another person, company, or entity.
- Upload content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, hateful, violent, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform, or circumvent any security or authentication mechanism. Coordinated security research is welcome — contact us at [email protected] before testing.
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation or other users' access (denial-of-service attacks, load-generating automation, etc.).
- Use the platform to send unsolicited bulk messages, recruit for roles you do not represent, or harvest contact information.
- Upload videos or content that does not relate to your candidacy or the professional purposes of the platform — including personal ads, non-hiring vlogs, promotional material for external products or services, prank videos, or content designed to entertain rather than represent you as a candidate.
- Use ShowIntro as a distribution channel for content unrelated to hiring (advertising, marketing, political campaigning, fund-raising, adult content, etc.).
Violation of these rules may result in immediate video removal and account termination with or without prior notice, and may be reported to law enforcement where appropriate.
12. Third-party services
ShowIntro relies on a small number of carefully selected sub-processors (notably Supabase for database, auth, and storage; and Vercel for hosting and edge delivery). A current list, with their roles and locations, is maintained in our Privacy Policy.
If you sign in with Google, your interaction with Google is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policy. ShowIntro is not responsible for the practices of third parties beyond the scope of our agreements with them.
13. Availability and warranties
ShowIntro is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such disclaimer is prohibited by applicable consumer-protection law.
We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of viruses, or that it will meet your specific requirements. We may suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice where possible, and without notice where necessary for security or legal reasons.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory local law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ShowIntro and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform — including lost hiring opportunities, lost revenue, lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, or substitute-service costs — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
For direct damages, our aggregate liability over any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to ShowIntro for the service during that period, or (b) €100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law — for example, liability for gross negligence, intent, or mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold ShowIntro, its operators, employees, and contractors harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the platform, your content, or your violation of any third-party right or applicable law.
This obligation does not apply where the claim arises from ShowIntro's own negligence or wilful misconduct.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to ShowIntro — in whole or in part — if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, that your account is compromised, or that continued access poses a security, legal, or reputational risk.
Where the breach is curable and the risk allows, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to fix the issue before terminating. Where the risk is immediate (security incidents, obvious fraud, clear illegality) suspension may take effect without prior notice.
You may stop using ShowIntro at any time by deleting your account, subject to the 30-day cooldown in section 9. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, indemnity, liability limits, and governing law — continue to apply.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the country where the ShowIntro operating entity is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where mandatory local consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you stronger rights, those rights apply.
We prefer to resolve disputes informally. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at [email protected] with a short description of the issue. If we cannot resolve the matter within 30 days, either party may bring the dispute to the competent courts of the operating entity's seat, subject to any mandatory consumer jurisdiction in your country.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
18. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms as the platform grows. For significant changes — for example, changes to fees, dispute resolution, or liability limits — we will notify you via email or an in-platform notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Minor, non-material changes (typo fixes, clarifications) take effect when the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes. We encourage you to revisit this page periodically.
19. Contact
